Great American Beer Festival

The Grand Temple of Beer awaits  your arrival.

First things first– beer is not religion.  If it were, the Great American Beer Festival would be it’s Mecca.  A Hadj to be performed by any self-respecting beer connaisseur as a principal tenet of the faith.  A time to circumambulate the floor and sample the wares of over 400 different breweries bringing over 2000 varieties of our beloved elixir.

No, it’s not religion, but it is a faith.  A faith in the power of man to create and mold his environment to his hand.  It’s a time to shelter away that false modesty about beer you present to those lesser folk, wiling away their time here on earth with mass-market beer, as you imbibe of the richness and variety of some of the most exceptional beers on the planet.  Yes, this festival is for you, beer geek.  Enjoy.

And after 4 days and countless sessions and tastings, food pairings and competitions, you and 30 thousand of your brethren leave changed, confident in the knowledge that nobody on this planet had a more comprehensive beer experience than  you did.   The rest of the world can be brutal and harsh, serving up skunky brews and marginal drafts, but you can stand firm in your convictions and remember that next October, there is that chance again to partake in all that is well and good in this world.

  1. Huh that was weird, my comment didn’t show up. Anywho I had to tell you that it’s nice to see that somebody else also touched on this as it was difficult finding the same information elsewhere. Yours was the first place that clarified this for me. Much obliged.
