Big Beers Fest Kicks off with Signature Calibration Dinner

The Big Beers Festival got off to a rousing start with the ultimate beer pairing dinner.  Under the direction of world class chef Adam Votaw, brewmasters Sam Calagione and Adam Avery each paired one of their beers with each course.

Dogfish Head’s “Saison du Pont” and Avery’s “Orval” with Clams, Scallops & Mussels in a Shell with Chorizo, Lemon Romanesco & Mint, yes please.  Or “Chicory Stout” and “Dugana IPA” with Citrus, Sage, Juniper & Rosemary Rubbed Pork Loin?  Can I have another?

Half the fun was watching old buds Sam and Adam talk about the evolution of the festival, changes in the industry, and friendly ribbing on who makes the better beers.   Winner: TBD.

Great location, great friends, great food, and great beer.  Does life get any better that this?
